Anybody had any experience with Silverlight?

by fordo123 / June 17, 2008 8:12 AM PDT

Would love to hear any and all perspectives and experiences using it, esp in comparison to Flash.

Thanks!

I have

but I've just downloaded it because I could. Aside from Microsoft's site, I've not been anywhere else that has it (I think), but I've liked it better than flash, it's been faster and more responsive, and it looks pretty too. (This is all on OS X by the way).

I'm using Silverlight 2 Beta 1 on Safari 3 and FF3, no problems that I know of.

No silverlight for FF3
by tylerlarson / June 17, 2008 12:02 PM PDT

The silverlight plugin seems to crash Firefox 3 when you close a page with silverlight content on it. At least, it does no my computer, and I've heard other complaints to the same effect.

So, for now, now silverlight for me.

Not Bad So Far

As far as I'm concerned it's just another plug in for watching video that certain sites require. Seems a bit snappier than Flash on older machines and I've experienced no stability issues.
