as Boomer-itis. This is the strong upturn in strains and sprains more common in the young and pro-athletes now afflicting us aging baby-boomers. I've got a torn rotator cuff even though my professional pitching days are long past, so long past I think they were in somebody else's life. A friend broke his collar bone doing nothing in particular, another friend was playing soccer with his surprise son (the one that came along when his daughter was 13) and tore the ligaments in his ankle, and there must be 3 or four more walking wounded in our circle of friends. Apparently we're all either in such good shape we don't know or acknowledge our own vulnerabilities, or we're so accustomed to acting like 20 somethings that we've never learned to act like 50 or 60 somethings. I actually think its kind of neat, except when I have to move my right arm when I wake up in the morning and it takes my other hand to do it.
