Question

Any way to speed up a 32 bit system?

Apr 16, 2012 6:42AM PDT

I have had to downgrade to a 32 bit laptop. Is there any way to speed it up some, without costing a lot of money, or having to upgrade to a different laptop? I play games on FB & the 32 bit is so slow that some of them freeze up, or crash. I de-activated the acceleration of the flash player, but, it hasn't help the games to work any better. I am using Google Chrome for my browser.

Run less programs or programs that use less resources (CPU, RAM, disk access).
Add RAM.

With hardware accelleration things should be somewhat faster, not slower. Although on some systems more stable.

That's about all you can do.

Did you remember to install the drivers after you switched over to a 32-bit OS? Many still are under the mistaken impression that Windows does this for them.

I didn't have to do any of that. The laptop I was using, I was renting, but do to a cut in finances, I'm letting them have it back, & gone back to using my old laptop.
