Any suggestions on eliminating drop outs?

May 23, 2006 6:32AM PDT

I am experiencing occasional video or audio drop outs on a Canon XL1S. I was using Maxell tapes, and switched to Sony hoping this would fix the problem. My latest video did seem better, but still had some audio drop outs.

Any suggestions on how to remedy this?

Go all digital. Look up DVRACK and drool as you get a recording with zero drops.

It's one of my secret weapons.

Have you tried cleaning the heads??
In general, you should use the same brand of tape in your cam.
Make sure to use quality tapes also.
