PICs you have on an external HDD, that wouldn't be recommended.

If you really want to use an external hard drive to store a COPY (not your only COPY) of your PICs on an external that gives you some redundancy. Whatever you decide to do .... read some of the many messages about external HDD failures and the things people do to address the risks...that would be a good way to get the facts before deciding how to proceed with storing/backing up PICs you can't afford to lose.

Please don't "store" pictures on externals.

If you follow the forum you see folk that "store" files on such to often ask for help recovering what they stored there.

As to your question, this is a world forum so it's unlikely anyone will find the best deal in your city.

How about cloud storage?

Have you every considered cloud storage as an option for backing up your pictures?

External hard drives can be damaged easily, if you are not careful. You know how life is, just about anything can happen. There are plenty of companies out there now providing cloud services, so you should have plenty of options. One good site to check out is Top10CloudStorage.com, which offers plenty of unbiased and detailed reviews, allowing you to choose what companies are best for your situation.

Anyways, that's just my two cents. Hope it works out for you.
