Any software as good as Adobe Acrobat to separate pdfs?

I have to separate volumes of documents in a single pdf. I really don't want to pay the price for Acrobat if there is something comparable. I need to be able to open the pdf file and then make many small pdfs from that. Ideas?

Odd. Did you try any titles at all?

You can always print it out

and then scan them into separate pdf files.
