Any Recommended TV's For Under $900???

by symxer167 / February 1, 2011 12:55 PM PST

I'm currently debating between 2 tv's: the Sony KDL46EX500 and the LG 50PK550. I was wondering if any of you have ideas on which one is generally a better model. I use it mainly for gaming on my PS3. Also, is there any other recomended tv's under $900 that are 46" or bigger??

My suggestion

As an owner of 3 LCD TVs and 1 Plasma, my whole-hearted suggestion is the 50" Panasonic 1080p Plasma which sells at BB for your price. I own the 46" model and my son owns the 50" model. My son is an avid gamer and hates his friend's TVs because of poor picture, but he loves his Plasma. Plasmas have no lag or blur, which is very important when gaming.

From What I've Read

The two sets you're looking at have mixed reviews. The LG has better reviews (by about 10% from what I've seen) than the SONY. When comparing models though I would compare Plasmas to Plasmas and LCDs to LCDs. For gaming, as you know, plasma TVs are better suited and the best I have seen IMO are Panasonic. No companies have much customer service so that issue is just not much to consider. (tey all pretty much suck)Spending $900 is a good bit of money and my suggestion is to take your time and look at reviews for any of the TVs you are interested in. The other thing is to take the time to physically go look at the TVs you are really interested in at a brick and mortar near you before you buy on-line. After making your decision then find the best deal on the set you want.
