Question

Any problems with Windows patches updates November 2014

Nov 12, 2014 1:42AM PST

Are there any problems with the just released windows patches?
Wish Cnet or anyone would provide a topic addressing patch Tuesday problems...where experts and users could comment with problems. Since many patches have caused users severe problems this would be a very popular topic.

I'm looking for problems, not a synopsis

Many sites offer descriptions of the patches...I want to know if any will break or impair my computer...problems, issues, complaints, pains, frustrations Are users having problems with any of these updates?

Yes it can.

That's why we backup or at the very least set a new restore point. Some folk ask what you did and the ugly answer is no one can guarantee it will be fine. All the patches are doing fine here (just a dozen machines so far.)

No synopsis and no problems

16 updates of which 3 were for Office 2007 installed and the machine restarted without problems.

But that's just mine. I can't tell about yours.

A good indication though, does your computer generally update Windows with or without problems?

I had not issues with the most recent updates. as far as your specific computer, who knows. Most likely no problems but as with any update, there will always be a chance something could go wrong. always make sure you have backups to files you cannot afford to lose.

Yes, 11/11/14 update caused BSOD soon after re-start, showing PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA. I did all the normal stuff, re-started in Safe Mode, ran all my antivirus and anti-malware checks, ran a hardware scan, all came up normal and healthy. Internet advised re-setting the pagefile sizes to zero , then to system-managed. No effect, still got BSOD.

Then did a System Restore to way back before the previous MS update to get the system up and running, even though I've lost half my desktop icons which is annoying.

Now I'm in two minds whether to re-install this 11/11/14 update. I have Windows 7 Ultimate edition.
