any one using a 3com or ASUS wifi modem router or other

I am new to linux and would like to purchase a adsl modem router to make a wireless connection to my home computers but I am not sure which works without too much fuss in linux. I live in the uk and have looked at the boxes at my local computer shop but they do not say if they are compatible and I dont know anyone using linux to ask.

Any help or advise will be gratfully recieved Thanks.
