Any mp3s without radio?

by mommaluca / December 28, 2010 10:47 PM PST

Everyone I've talked to thinks we're crazy, but we need a few mp3s without radio access. We've looked and looked, and we can't find any. Any ideas? Thanks so much!

Some workplaces forbid camera phones or phones with bluetooth or storage and here we have another can't have request. While the reason was not given, workplaces can have odd rules.

It's because

it's for one of our kids, and she doesn't need to be listening to all the stuff on FM. She wants a screen for video and we need at least 4gb. I'm having such a hard time finding one! My hubby works for cdw and he can't find one either.

...these days, an MP3 player that can play video yet conversely doesn't have FM radio capability. Especially if you're looking for a model from a major brand (I don't doubt that there are examples from generic off-brands, especially with some of the schlock that emanates from China these days).

Archos makes a unit in their current lineup that might work:

However, I'm not sure who sells this model.

Amazon sells this Archos unit, but it's an older model:

The 3rdGen iPod nano would have been perfect, but new-in-box examples tend to be rather pricey nowadays (collector's items, I guess).

Refurbished examples are available, as are used ones. eBay seems to have a bunch of people selling new-old-stock as well for quite a bit cheaper...but of course it's eBay.

Thanks so much - I appreciate it! We ended up going the ebay route. She bought a green 8 GB 4th Gen iPod. She's 14, so the lego ones didn't quite cut it. ;D
You guys are great!

I hate that my mp3 player doesn't have any radio, i still don't understand why you don't want them.
Okay, enough talk about that.
If you want a mp3 player without radio, i recommend you mine.
Mine is an intenso video driver. It can play music, avi videos and show pictures. It has 2gb and you can click on the navigation to show all that you downloaded. I still use mine Happy It was a birthay gift from my sisters and dad. They bought it when we were in Germany Happy
