Any MacPython users out there?

Jun 27, 2006 12:18PM PDT

Hello all, I'm learning python from the book ''Python Programming, second edition - for the absolute beginner'' by Micheal Dawson. It's a great book but is written for Windows users, and I use mostly my Mac or Linux. I have come to the part of the book where I am learning graphics and need to install pygame, but have looked around and haven't found a Mac version. I have tried to install the same tar file as I sucessfully installed on Linux, but it failed with an error about gcc, although I have the latest developer packages installed. I also tried to install via Darwin Ports, I thought it was sucessful, but when I went to run a graphics program it complained there was no module pygame. I also looked at py2app, but I can't figure out how to use it to install pygame. If anyone reading this can help me out, I would really appreciate it. I have the 17'' Intel dual core Imac. Thanks in advance - Gary
