Let's be brutal here. If you don't like the OS or what they installed SONY is the worst choice given your posts. (Unless you intend on relenting your prior stance.)
Take a look at this discussion (there are others but I leave you to find them.)
I'm using YOUR words as specifications and declare loudly "Sony is not for you."
I have tried 3 times now to get a Sony Vaio that would meet my needs. First time it was configured with the help of Sony Style customer Support. The second time, I went back through the first configuration, see why it was going to be back ordered for such a long time. The third time the Floor Supervisor in Customer Satisfaction called me and tried to help me get a system that would meet my needs and have it available. We talked for an hour or so, and I never heard back from him. I know these companies hate to do special configurations, but some people have jobs of whatever that require the unusual configuration.
So, I am pretty much set on a Sony Vaio or a Dell, but the Dell configuration process takes forever and the you find out at the end that there are incompatibilities that should have been mentioned when the choice (specification) was chosen.
I would like a Sony. Any way some kind of "expert" with this brand could help me get a system could use for my work as well as basic pleasure needs. hehe.
Let me know. I know www.sonystyle.com pretty well but I am unable to get a configuration that is in stock.
Much thanks for any help any kind person is willing to give me.
