Question

Any FREE Windows Cloud Desktop Services?

Mar 1, 2016 6:11PM PST

Hello. I am an Owner of a small business. We have a problem. Where do we store all our important documents???? I have tried many homemade solutions for a server, but they all do not have the features my company requires. Now my company makes very little money, and it's not worth to buy something like Microsoft Asure. We need a FREE Windows Cloud Desktop. Not a trial. It does not even need a lot of storage, since we aren't downloading a whole lot of crap. It would be used for things like simple web browsing, and making documents, powerpoint presentations, etc. Anyone know anything like that?

Clarification Request
I'd want to know what you think is a Windows Cloud Desktop.

We did get some spammers this year trying to sell such so I don't give them any due.

The problem with a Cloud when it is FREE is that there is no reason it has to keep working. There's no contract, no money changed hands so if they go down or fold, you lose what's there.

Here's a famous person stating this another way -> http://www.engadget.com/2014/02/11/steve-wozniak-thinks-modern-dependence-on-cloud-services-comes-w/

So if you did this on a cloud that is free and not yours what will you do when they drop a feature or fold?

If that were to happen, I would back up ALL my files, then talk to support to ask what they are doing. If they do not admit, or want to do anything about it, then thats a different situation.

The thing is

I've seen folk use such and try to recovery files after the failure. There are some file in the cloud systems that auto delete after 30 days. And the posts about this are as hot as lava.

I can't tell what you want here. What is a Windows Cloud Desktop?

It's certainly not a standard thing since a Virtual PC from the web would be costly in terms of the Microsoft licenses.

A desktop you can use for web browsing and making documents and presentations sounds as hardware with a keyboard, a mouse and a monitor. Most hardware isn't free.

Can you explain what you want more clearly?
