and find the free Microsoft Security Essentials does a pretty good job. There might be better ones for pay but this one of best free ones I've seen.

I just got a new laptop, i7 chip, Win 7 Home premium 64-bit - I like it
I have been using Trend-micro pc-cillin, etc. for the last few years and was happy with it, but I've heard there are definitely better options.
I'm okay in spending up to $40-50 a year for service and renewalls. But I know there's some good free or nearly free packages too. I'm not sure which direction to go - Norton, AVG, Kaspersky, Comodo, Vipre, something else...
Any recommendations?
Best,
Shalin
P.S. - please, withold snotty or similar comments on getting a Mac, I think I've heard'em all. Witty comments are welcome, however ![]()
