Antivirus software...and what to buy

I had trouble downloading Mcafee package with all their software with my slow dial up modem and after reading pros /cons ...went with FREE avast antivirus and Free zonealarm firewall ...VERY Pleased!!! I have a low end dell desktop about year old ...xp home edition and I'm NOT a 'techy'...

i couldn't agree more... i've used all the major av packages... but now i'm on avast and zone alarm.

i highly recommend you buy zone alarm pro... it has far better protection. same goes for avast pro - which has script blocking...
