antivirus

MY subscription to Norton will expire soon (came with 'puter). I am looking for a good free antivirus that works with Mozilla email (scanning incoming and outgoing). Does AVG or Avast scan Mozilla email and which one is the better of the two?

Thanks Donna. Can you tell me which one is the better of the 2? Which would you suggest. What are the pros and cons of each?

Hard to tell which is better since both offers useful function and features - most of all both are free anti-virus program. Since you are looking for an antivirus that will work with Mozilla mail, you might want to use Avast because it claimed to support that mail program.

My suggestion and IMHO, first try Avast. If you like its features and satisfied on how it feed a user with updates (virus protection), keep it Wink
AVG is proven good free AV too. It doesn't matter whether the mail program is supported to many as long as the resident shield is enabled to protect the system for known malicious codes.

BTW, Avast forum is located in http://forum.avast.com/ - just in case you want to read what has been posted about Avast (pros and cons)

Hope the above helps.
