General discussion

Anti-virus not enough.

Spybot has just found a trojan, "StartPage-EH". It was not picked up by Stinger, Ad-aware or Panda, which highlights the need for a multiple system approach to security.

Basil - to be SURE ......

go to Housecall and scan ALL files !

Be sure and put a check in the box by "Auto Clean" before you do the scan. If it finds anything that it cannot clean have it delete it or make a note of the file location so you can delete it yourself.

Hi, badabing, it is obviously the same trojan, but other than that, I have no idea why you are having a problem.

How about installing BHODemon??

In reply to: Is anything unchecked in SpywareBlaster..

Internet Explorer has a nasty habit of allowing so-called Browser Helper Objects (or BHOs) to install themselves into IE. Some BHOs are helpful, like the Google Toolbar, but others (especially those planted by viruses or spyware) can be malicious and harmful. BHODemon gives you a quick look at the BHOs installed on your PC, tells you whether a specific BHO is known to be safe or harmful, and gives you the ability to enable or disable individual BHOs with a single mouse click.

Rechecked 4 entries in the restricted sites in SWB and did an autoclean with Housecall.

Thanks to you both.
