General discussion

Answers.com The "alt+left click" feature doesn't work.

Mar 5, 2005 2:25AM PST

All features of the Answers.com information software
work fine except the "alt-left click on a word" feature. I have tried all the Answers.com troubleshooting sites with no success. I have tried
tweaking IE Security and IE Advanced options. Any
suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance for any help......
Gary

what alt-left click feature? where?

Assuming you are talking about within IE.

As far as I know, any left-click only does what a plain left-click does, and that is it goes to that link point.

Now, if you actually mean a:
shift+left-click then that will open a new window to that link point.
OR
(any)+right-click will show you a menu.

If you are talking about within Word, then an Alt+left-click will go to a Thesaurus of that word you clicked on. Is that what you mean?

Sorry, I did not pick up on the point you were making, that there is a tool that you loaded called Answers.com.

Ah-ha! this appears to be the latest incarnation of the people who have giving us Atomica, then GuruNet, and now "1-Click Answers"

I have used Atomica years ago, and I liked it then, but then it was free. I stopped it when you had to pay for it, as GuruNet (some things were still free, but it wasn't what I liked).

Thanks for the lead; I may try it out again.

Thanks for the question, I also have Answers.com, I though it had quit working because it only seemed to work in my Outlook Express mail. While checking their "help" today, I saw that if I "right" click a word and then select answers on the drop down menu that it worked. Only a suggestion.
