I think the Sandisk ImageMate likely corrupted the card. I've seen several posts to that effect. Apparently these readers aren't that safe to use with xD cards. I now know better. Try http://www.smartmediarepair.com/ to get your card/pictures back.
Hello. I have an xD memory card that I cannot access.
I used to have a program that could read the card directly from the camera by using one of the old-fashioned card slots (not USB). I am not sure of the name of the slot, but the icon above it looks like this: |O|O|.
Anyway, I accidentaly deleted the program and tried to re-install it. The program name was Olympus Camedia Master. Now, keep in mind that it used to work. When I try to install it, it says "cannot install, Windows 32-bit subsystem..." and I cannot remember the rest, as I have lost the CD.
So, after many different attempts at re-installing the program, I gave up. I went to Staples and bought a "SanDisk ImageMate 12-in-1 Reader/Writer."
I installed all the necessary programs and plugged it in. As always, my Windows XP Home Edition detected the USB device and installed all 4 different drives contained on the reader. So, I figured it was safe to plug in my card. I plugged it in, the reader lit up, and when I went to get it on My Computer, it said the device was busy. So, I waited several more minutes and tried again, and it gave me an error message.
So, this time I tried using the transfer button located on the reader. It said there were no pictures on the card. I put them in the camera and it read the pictures, but the computer couldn't.
I will respond with more information if it is needed!
