Question

Another WMN5090 Wall mount question

Mar 16, 2015 8:05AM PDT

I decided to try the WMN5090 Samsung motorized wall mount along with my newer UN46D6300 LED TV. I am able to control the wall mount from my remote except for the tilt function and of lesser importance it does not return to home position when powered off.

A menu pops up when I press the arrow keys but there is no up and down option when I press the up and down keys, only side to side. I doubt there is anything wrong with the wall mount itself and am guessing there is a software compatability issue with the newer TV.

Any suggestions?

1. Call the seller and ask for a fix.
2. Call Samsung and ask for a fix. (It's 1800SAMSUNG here.)

If no one can fix it, consider returning it.

Thanks, I do have a question in to Samsung but havent heard back yet. I bought it as new surplus as they are discontinued and they were originally designed for LCD or Plasma screens with Ex-Link which my newer LED TV has as well so I thought they would be compatable.

I read others have had compatability issues with the newer model TV's and am hoping someone has found a patch.

That patch would be from Samsung.

You could get a copy of the Service Manual, which would show you how to get into the service menu, and turn on the wall mount function.

Do not change any settings you do not understand.

You could cause your TV to become a giant paperweight.

You may also want to look here for other info.

Thanks, I also did a post on the blog you linked and you are correct, I am not a tech so am not comfortable going in to the unit without a good set of (proven) instructions to follow.

For now the unit works great side to side just not tilt which would be nice to enhance my viewing experience.
