Sure but I would be guessing this is a gamer rig. If so you may want to check input lag. CNET noted that recently.

Sony did well on that one. Here's another article.

As to 4K, usually it's just something we can ignore for many reasons but as a monitor you may actually be sitting that close. I find 1080 to be fine on the 23 inch screen at work.

Hello all, let me bore you with yet another dilemma:
I use my TV only as a screen for my PC, so I don't ever use any smart tv funcionality, usb recording, or to be honest - even the remote. I'd preffer to avoid built in cameras and microphones, and I don't really care that much about a curved screen. All I could complain about with my current setup is that sometimes I could use some easy wireless sharing of photos etc from mobile devices, when my friends come over. Not even so much my own devices - I can cope with those.
I don't have a big living room, and sometimes I like to sit (a lot) closer (rare gaming marathons). My couch is usually around 1.5-2.5 m away from the wall.
First thing is - I would really like to buy a 50-55in TV, and I would really love to get 4K not to have this struggle in a couple years again but after reading so many comparisons, pros and cons - I'm not sure if it's worth it, and I can't wait more than maybe 3-4 months with the purchase from now. I've seen a chart of screen size to viewing distance ratio which suggested weather there would or would not be a major difference visible, and that chart suggested I might see it, however I must say I've yet to see a 4k 55 in tv that would blow me away... to be honest the few 4k TVs I have seen gave me the impression the HD content displayed on them would not be as attractive, not as fluent - tearing, and well, I'm not sure the pixel size at 0.5-1m even bothers me that much?
Probably I was looking at wrong 4k models?
Lets say my price range for a 4k tv would be 1200 EUR tops, and well prefferably 20% less for FullHD TV.
I would apreciate if you guys could point me in a direction of maybe 1-2 UHD tv models most worth to be looked at at this price range and size, and same with FHD ones. I don't think I would use 3D much, also I'd preffer LED TV.
As you can probably tell I am not a great video-phile, and probably won't appreciate very fine picture differences.
I was advised to go with Sony W8 series, I am just not sure. I don't have much brand loyalty, but closest thing to a preferred brand would be Samsung, since I have mobile devices of that manufacturer, but that is not at all a priority.
The sound capabilities are nearly irrelevant to me, I have an independent sound system.
If you took the time to read my miserable keybashing, I will appreciate any suggestions.
Cheers!
