I posted bout the daughter of a coworker- unreal deal on a Vista Laptop, complete gnashing of teeth over many things, did the cross-grade to XP ( at least that's what he says she is calling it ) to XP. VERY satisfied with it. My question; is it really a downgrade if everything works better, faster, cleaner, sweeter??
This is crazy - the file system alone on Vista is enough to make me get rid of this "Ultimate" OS ASAP. Unbelievable, with or without the new "one click" option on, can't properly rename files or navigate properly when saving from applications. And what's with the default folder view options, look in any image folder and I get "Date Taken," "Tags," all that other crap - not everyone is starting a photo album just because I'm viewing images, Einstein! It really is nuts how bad this thing is, not to mention the lack of drivers, system file structure, fuhggedabouddit. Bet my 2G of RAM will go a lot farther on an XP downgrade.
