Another Problem NEED HELP ASAP.

Aug 9, 2004 10:21AM PDT

I've got two problems :S, and like alwyas i turn to cnet forums. First, i can hover my mouse out it seems like 2 inches off the desktop and then it can come back. I could live with that but, now my computer is being and dumb and when i maximize a program it puts it out there and theres no getting into it. Its really frustrating. Second, i cannot log in to cnet forums from my computer.(im on a dif. computer). When i try to log on it goes to my registration. and when i re register it still wont let me log on. Thanks for reading.

1. The issue of a minimised program that won't maximize was one side effect of the FriendGreet pest or similar pest. I'd run a scan with Adaware, Spybot, Cwshredder and Housecall.

2. Your issue about logon is too vague. The CNET forums were under construction over the last day. Was that it?

I ran all the scans.

I ran all the scans and still no luck, the things that go in the 2 inch margin that my mouse disapears to on the right side are my . Microsoft Outlook, and my MSN Messenger.

Then...

With what you wrote, do you have two video connectors on your machine? I get the vibe that you have the dual display enabled, but just one monitor. Test? Plug the display into the other VGA connector. What's there?

As I wrote, what you wrote gave me the thought that there may be two video cards. You did neglect the forum tip so now I must copy it here.

" Tip: If you are asking for help to troubleshoot a computer-related problem, please be sure to include all the necessary information (ie: operating system, model number, hardware, software, etc) that will help others identify your problem for a speedy resolution."

If I take what you've written, I could have a dual video card setup and the mouse would indeed disappear off to the right side.

Sorry

I am a very lazy guy, sorry bob. You did help me in a funny way. When you said two Video cards i for some reason thought you meant that i had my video card set up for two monitors. Turns out it was set up for two monitors, i swtiched that and here i am happy as can be. I have anotehr question but im goign to post it in the main forum. THANKS!

No problem, but understand it was a shot in the dark

I was purely guessing it could be the dual video card. You can read that as "dual video" card or dual "video card".

The machine details could have made me think of that sooner, but were not supplied.

Try to supply the information in the future.
