Later it failed again and I brought out the Volt meter and the CMOS or RTC BATTERY (see google) was 2 volts. A new one is 3 Volts which means it was on the edge.
THIS DOES NOT mean this is your cause. I deal with many machines but this is in the top 2 or three items of simple things that bring a dead laptop back.

Only difference with this problem is that I actually did fix it. I did the "take the battery out of the laptop for 30 seconds and put it back in" and it worked. I'm using it now and it works perfectly.
My question is, I began to get a bit worried about the stability of my computer, like whether or not this problem will happen again and I WON'T be able to fix it. My laptop is still under warranty so I could return it and get a new one, though this is a hassle. So has this "laptop power" thing happened to anyone else who fixed it themselves as I did? And if so, did the problem ever resurface? Thanks in advance.
