Another Facebook ***! (surprise)

Mar 18, 2011 8:09AM PDT

Maybe everyone knew this but me but today I get a pop-up stuck over the status field asking me to confirm my privacy settings for photos and saying that some of my photos are available to "Everyone" (their run-away capitalization) with the message I can change my settings if I don't like that. Checked my settings carefully and no exposure. Then noticed this sneaky URL at the bottom of each album page in six point type. For a full discussion check http://1stopit.blogspot.com/2010/05/facebook-photo-sharing-bad.html but the bottom line is that for any album there's a URL which is exposed to the world that displays that album with comments and other metadata to the world; and you can't disable that feature. You also can't use your profile page until you "confirm" forcing you to co-opt their lousy security. Can we generate some heat around this?
