Another computer problem - tabs

Windows XP, latest Firefox upgrade. Recently began closing two tabs at once. Example.. if I am at a site and click on a link, then close the link, it goes back to home page. Thanks for any cure for this malady.

Tried Uninstalling, The Reinstalling Firefox?

A standard uninstall will usually save your Bookmarks so reinstalling should put everything back to normal.

Any tab related extensions?

Any extensions installed like Tabbrowser Preferences or Tab Mix, Tab Mix Plus...?
