No need to use any other computer to download those utilities if you are still able to download and install software on this system. But run, update, then scan with those utilities one at a time, to check there is no other malware on the system.
I am running Windows Vista Home Premium. I have a terribly annoying flash that is making me nuts. The best I can describe it is that it looks like a program is opening a window and then immediately closing it. I can't be sure, but the window doesn't always appear to be the same size or in the same location. The flashes don't seem to be happening at any regular interval, but happen about every 10 seconds or so. After a reboot, it usually goes away...sometimes for hours, sometimes for days. Whatever it is keeps coming back. I've been just rebooting, but after a year of this, I've had enough. I do run McAffee Virus scan and nothing shows up.
Any tips, ideas, etc. would be greatly appreciated.
