annoying french web pages

Dec 16, 2003 7:45PM PST

A collegue has been having problems when on the internet. If he does a search and then clicks on one of the results, a lot of times french web pages appear that are nothing to do with what he is looking for. The pages are usually for casinos or dating agencies. This also happens if he clicks a link from within any other web site.

We have run Spybot and ad-aware but they found nothing.

He is running Windows XP Home.

Thanks Larry

Tried this but it found nothing. When I tried the links that are listed after the program is run, I got the french pages again.

Installed Sun's Java Runtime and this seems to have cleared up the problem (fingers crossed).

thought that the problem had been solved but it has started again. Seems to do it in fits and bursts.
