Annoying Dialog Boxes

I am getting a dialog box asking me for my Windows Live ID or hotmail account and password. This appears whenever I use Windows Explorer (version 6) under Documents and Settings. If I cancel, it comes back within seconds. Eventually, if I get to another part of the C: drive, it stops.
I also get a slightly different dialog box regularly asking for my network password. Same thing, if I cancel it goes away. I can access my email (Outlook 2003) or my MSN without any problem.

IE 6?

In reply to: Annoying Dialog Boxes

If IE 6 and my machine I'd not have this issue but then again if I did I'd "shoot it dead" by running HIJACKTHIS to eradicate the Live (soon to be dead) addins. Which are the Live addins? Usually it's a BHO.

What's a BHO? See google.
Which addon? Use HIJACKTHIS and research the items on Google.
What's HIJACKTHIS? A power tool with 50 caliber magnum force found with Google.

What's Google? A search engine.

What's a search engine? Sorry, I think it runs on ethanol.

Problem solved

In reply to: Just In Case It's Malware

Thanks Grif, but it appears that the problem is gone. I did a system restore rolling the date back almost a month. I have not seen any of these password dialog boxes all day, so it must have been something in the registry.
