Anna grew very rapidly and by the age of four had reached 4 feet 6 inches tall. This seemed very unusual to her parents, both of whom were average height....At 15 years old, Anna stood well over seven feet. She moved to an aunt?s home on Willow Street in Truro....Barnum?s interest was aroused, he wanted measurements, and soon learned that Anna was 7 feet 11 inches tall and over 400 pounds....On June 17, 1871, the church of St. Martin-In-The-Fields Church in Trafalgar?s Square was the scene of a large commotion after the Saturday morning service. People were crowded around the church trying to get a look at the giant couple to be wed and their guests, who were a sight to behold as well...
