Does anyone kno any good softwares I can take a look at for animation? I'm wanting to make impressive .gif animations that is clear n smooth.

Photoshop Imageready (which came with my photoshop program (7.0)) allows you to make animated GIF's. Its an extremely simply animation toolbar that lets you draw each frame individually, but you can't really add too many effects except fading in an out... other then that I would just suggest flash for your overall 2-d drawing animations. I'm sure you can render your flash animation to be a GIF file somehow.
