I'll never forget my father's prediction

when Andy Williams then wife, Claudine Longet, embarked on her own singing career. My dad said "There goes the marriage." How could he have known?

I can't think of her without thinking of....

.....a skit on the original SNL that was in very poor taste and very funny -- it was "sports coverage" of a ski event called the Claudine Longet Invitational, and consisted entirely of footage of skiers wiping out after a sound of gunfire. "Announcer" Chevy Chase would then cry out that "Claudine Longet has just accidentally shot (skier's name)." She killed 7 or 8 skiers in that sketch.

I should have commented about Mr. Williams first

I was a kid when his show was on the air...weekly, I think. He fit the mold of the times being a polite and gentle sort. He was the kind of person who, if he tried to act angry, we'd only laugh...a bit like Mitt Romney. Devil He'd not survive in TV land today.
