Question

Android internet

Jul 13, 2018 7:10PM PDT

I recently started getting internet service on my android smartphone without WIFI being turned on. I do not subscribe to any internet service for my phone. It doesn't matter where I am, hotspot or not, I still have internet service. I don't know where it comes from but would like to know why/how this is happening. Can anyone help?

The Internet is coming over my cellular carrier. I won't be able to expand on this much as it would take volumes to cover how it all works but today we can access the Internet with the smart phone without WiFi using the cellular connection.

On some phones there are settings to turn off or limit data use.

I suspect you have some included data pkg on your cellular plan, not likely you are getting free internet if you WIFI is shut off.
