An Ultimate HTIB

Jun 13, 2005 1:29AM PDT

Hi everybody,

I am a Home theater enthusiast and I'm on the point of bying a Home Theater In A Box system (very soon). It defenitly must be an HTIB, with good Audio Quality but the design and features are also important. I have a budget of 750$ Max.

Crucial specifications:
- Progressive Scan
- Component Video Output
- Digital Video Input
- Dolby D & DTS & Prologic II Decoder
- At least 600 W RMS Total Power
- Writable DVDs compatibility (at least one of +R/RW & -R/RW)
- MP3 & JPEG Compatibility

Very appreciated specifications:
- Tall speakers (at least the rear ones)
- 5 Disc Changer
- Universal Remote Control
- Active Subwoofer

Useful Specifications
- Divx Compatibility
- Wireless Rear Speakers (but with no percievable quality loss!)

After endless hours of research on the net, I came up with these systems (in order of preference):

JVC TH-M606
Panasonic SC-HT930
Sony DAV-FC9
Yamaha DVX-S200P
Onkyo HT-S770 S
Pioneer HTZ-940DV
Philips Streamium MX6000i
JVC TH-C6
Yamaha YHT F1500

What do you think of theses systems? Which one do you prefer? And if you know of better systems that match my requirments, please mention them.

Thank you all.
