by Glenda / May 27, 2007 6:01 AM PDT

Who was it that sang " Make an Ugly woman your wife" ? I don't even remember if that's the title! Jim and I are going nuts! He thinks it was The Coasters and I don't think it was:(

...if Glenda has a bad memory.

The first verse (and WHY do I remember these things?) goes:

If you wanna be happy
For the rest of your life,
Make a pretty woman your wife.
Listen to my personal point of view,
Get a pretty woman to marry you.

Make an Ugly woman your wife

That marriage is off to a good start.

You have to "make" an ugly person marry you. Wink

I know, I know, that's not what it means. Don't bite my head off.

The title of the song is

If You Wanna Be Happy

the last 2 verses makes me wonder why some refer to the song as a "love song"

Don't let your friends say
You have no taste,
Go ahead and marry anyway,
Though her face is ugly,
Her eyes don't match,
Take it from me she's a better catch.

Say man.
Hey baby.
Saw your wife the other day.
Yeah?
Yeah, she's ugly.
Yeah, she's ugly but she sure can cook.
Yeah?. Okay.

Thanks All:)
