An indentified source of ransom

Jul 9, 2017 7:17AM PDT

An online help company who actually helped me a few years ago placed a lock on my computer that won't let it start without their password because i would not buy an extended services. I have reported them with caller ID, callback number, and website info to the FBI website. I do not want to risk my post being blocked but am livid as I rebuild my self built computer.
What once was a trusted area of help has been corrupted.

As no one here (moderators and CNET) places blocks, passwords on Windows today all I can offer is to avoid support that takes over your PC. You open the door to ransom demands.
