There are far too many complaints about Windows and 4GB machines for you to miss those. Today I ask people to stop at 2GB if they are running Windows.

I ordered a new PC form HP with 4G of memory and with Windows Vista installed. When I turned on the computer, Windows Welcome screen shows only 3.5G of memory. I thought HP made a mistake installing only 3.5 G of memory. I called HP support and they told me it's correct. They claimed Windows Vista takes up that 0.5G as reserve for the OS. Is HP support correct?
