Does anyone remember about 14 months ago when the US was accused of bombing an innocent wedding party on the Syrian border at 3:00 am? I haven?t heard any media follow up on this and had the US been guilty of doing such, it would have made as big of headlines as Abu Grab?n?me. When the US is right, the media hides the truth.

Of course the US military makes mistakes, but generally we readily admit to it.

Reports: Italy, U.S. clash over investigation into shooting of Italian agent in Iraq

ROME (AP) Reluctance by Italian investigators to accept the U.S. version of the killing of an Italian security agent by American troops in Iraq last month is holding up the conclusion of a joint inquiry into the shooting, Italian newspapers said Thursday.

NBC News, however, has said a preliminary report from the U.S.-Italian commission has been completed and clears the Americans of any wrongdoing in the killing of Nicola Calipari at a temporary checkpoint on the road to Baghdad airport while he brought an Italian hostage to freedom.

U.S. Embassy and military officials in Baghdad declined to comment on the report. Italian military and government officials also said they had no information.

More fictitious journalism from Rupert Murdoch Land...

With all due respect, Rob, the story in question reports the results of the Department of Defense investigation of this incident. Now, unless Mr. Murdoch has recently bought DoD, I have to conclude that this piece accurately reports the findings of the investigation.

IMO, you'd find more satisfaction (if intellectual honesty matters to you, that is) in asking why the New York Post saw fit to run this story and the New York Times did not.

It just couldn't be that the truth keeps getting in the way of the establishment media's biases, could it?
