AMD is a lot better for many reasons.
1. heating issue is less due to the fact on how they use their chipsets. AMD doesnt force more power to their chip to make more performance. they use more memory for their performance.
2. AMD 64 is fully upgradable to AMD X2. no need to but a new laptop when dual core is out, AMD has made it possible for dual core support on their chipsets since the K8.
3. 64 bit will replace 32 bit by the end of the year.
4. Intel rushed their 64 bit chip and have seen some problems with them
