AMD Sempron 2800 & 64-Bit Support

Sep 24, 2005 4:59AM PDT

Hi this is kind of a carry over from my previous note on the Celeron processor just have one last thing to clear up. Does the AMD Sempron 2800 have 64-bit support? I believe technojunkie indicated that it did, but I'm not sure. Say if you're out there maybe you help me clear this up. Seems like that would really be something to look for in a new notebook or desktop for that matter with 64-bit Windows Vista comming out next year, at least that's what I hear.

Kind Of A Tight Budget

Hi thanks for your help well I might be able to squeeze out the extra bucks but I really wanted to get a AMD 3000+ Sempron saw one with a 60gig hard drive 512 ram 15.4 inch screen for slightly under $800.00 dollars. Am I correct in understanding that you said that it's not supported in notebooks just desktops? And how about the Turion does support 64 bit? Thanks

wait till Thanksgiving...

for tons of good deals, unless you need a laptop RIGHT NOW. I got my laptop for college a month ago. It's a Compaq V2312US and seems to have the specs you're looking for except its processor is a Turion. And I got it for $740! (with a $230 rebate, of course) It's got Turion 64 ML-28 1.6GHz, 512 MB ram (128MB of which is Video Ram), 60GB HDD, 14" widescreen WXGA, etc... so if you can wait till Thanksgiving, you might see tons of good laptops at a good price.
