Thanks Jager67, but its an on-off thing if you know what I mean.

Sometimes I get that message when I start up, other times I don't.

To tackle this one

I'd want to know the make and model as well as the web page of this desktop or laptop.

Let's be clear this is not an assured fix for the crash. I wonder if you are seeing the newer PC owners that think that such is a driver or software issue only and not something like a laptop that was being used on a couch or bed?

Desk Use Only
Jun 24, 2013 6:25AM PDT

Thanks R.Proffitt. Only ever been used on it's desk.

The Make is a Samsung, modes Series 3 Notebook. I presume you'd need this: NP355V5C-A07UK? I think that's the model number.

What do you mean by web page?

Thanks.

Sorry but those create more issues then they solve.

You see such then you find folk asking how to recover. I've yet to find those that suggest these to pitch in and fix the problems they caused.

Answer
Here's a samsung download page

I found your model number on Samsung's site in a ten seconds.

http://www.samsung.com/uk/function/search/espsearchResult?input_keyword=NP355V5C-NP355V5C-A07UK&keywords=NP355V5C-NP355V5C-A07UK

I'm not sure what your problem is. However I've been able to cure various issues with different laptop and desktop computers with firmware and driver updates.

Make sure you do a full backup before installing any firmware. It's also a good practice prior to any update.
You probably have recovery software on your laptop. I would make sure to have an updated recovery disk, on the outside chance that your update fails or is interrupted before completing.

To those people who offered suggestions here, bravo. It's always the person who is fixing an issue's responsibility to make certain they are updating the right product and in the right way. It's never wrong to offer help. Don't listen to anyone who complains without contributing to the actual discussion.

Best of luck resolving your issue by Manannan.

Thanks mitchcpi, and apologies for the delayed reply.

I was looking on the AMD site, no idea that what I needed was on the Samsung site, although the Action Centre was directing me to AMD.

I'll try downloading those now and let you know how I get on.

Thanks for the help Happy

Ryan.

Windows 7 Only
Jul 4, 2013 2:48AM PDT

Hi mitchcpi,

Just had a look at the download you posted, these are all for Windows 7 only, the same problem I've previousy had on both the Samsung & Windows sites. I'm using Windows 8, and there's not much available for it. Microsoft's own site doesn't have much for 8.

Thanks for the help, but does anyone know how I'd be able to get the Updates I need for Windows 8?

Thanks,

Ryan.
