AMD Athlon XP 2800+ (Need Video Card HELP!

by jdm62 / June 27, 2008 10:45 PM PDT

I have a HP Pavilion a605x with a AMD Athlon XP 2800+ processor 1 GB ram 80gb hard drive. I have read that the VIA chipsets are not good for games which is true because I have a NASCAR 2004 Thunder game I played on a HP Pavilion 504n 2.0Ghz Intel Celeron processor with 512gb ram a Integrated Intel Extreme Graphics with up to 64mb shared video memory and 40 GB hard drive. It played the game like a champ until this past Sunday and lighting got it thru the nic card, (FRIED) So now I need to get a video card that will run on this AMD to run the game. Now the bad part is, I only care to play that game so I am standing on my hair because I can't play that game and need help to get this AMD to run it and a video card is the only thing I see I can do but what kind and which one is my trouble?? HELP!! I have read that AGP X1050 is not good can a old redneck get a bit of help from my tech friends. I would be forever in debit to the group.
Thank You!!!

The Samsung RF23M8090SG

One of the best French door fridges we've tested

A good-looking fridge with useful features like an auto-filling water pitcher and a temperature-adjustable "FlexZone" drawer. It was a near-flawless performer in our cooling tests.
