AMD 64

Mar 2, 2005 8:19AM PST

hi, i have a laptop that runs an AMD64 (2.2ghz) 3400+ and i was hoping and told that it would run at at least 2.2.ghz which i guess is the same as 3.4 in pentium terms, i also have 1 gb ram, xp pro, 40gb hd. etc etc...what i really wanted to know was why when i just system in the control panel is says that the processor is running at 336mghz or 785mghz and it chagned from time to time even when im doing alot of stuff i dont think ive ever seen it break 1ghz, is it cuz that im not doing the amoutn of stuff that needs that much processor speed or what? i really wanna kno im pissed.

In later versions of your laptops they corrected that since the owners were calling in about the CPU dynamic speed stepping.

I have 2 of such laptops that I picked up on the cheap most likely to such owners.
