Question

Amazon Prime on Samsung Smart TV

by scandata / October 11, 2014 8:59 AM PDT

I used to be able to watch Amazon Prime through the Yahoo app on my Samsung TV. When all these connection issues started and before I knew that they were on Samsung's end, I deleted all my apps in case one of those was causing the trouble. Now when I went to reinstall them, I can't find the Yahoo app. Has it been discontinued? Is there another way to get Amazon Prime content without buying their "Fire TV" unit? If anyone can help, that'd be great.

Let Samsung answer. That is, call it in.

Consider yourself lucky just to have Amazon Prime on your TV. For some reason, Samsung has found it necessary to skip my year TV. The year before has it and the year after has it. Amazon puts the blame solely on Samsung for this.

Skip ahead? Did you catch the 20 buck Amazon Fire Stick?

Looks pretty good but it won't be delivered until Dec 24th, and it's a "first of build". I don't like beta testing without getting paid to beta test, but if this is the only way that my Smart TV can become smart again, I don't have much of a choice. Didn't see vudu on the screen shot which is where I have a little movie collection but I hope it's there. Maybe this will eliminate the constant buffering problem that seems to have affected many Samsung owners this month. That's another post tho.
Thanks for the information. This is what makes these forums work. Happy

Not really a first or beta

The Chromecast feels like a first build to me. I have the Amazon Fire TV and while it was their first it is very polished and rocks. I noted the FireStick because at 20 bucks it's quite the steal. Yeah, won't ship for awhile.

BTW, I've been on the train ride a while. PCs to TVs, then smaller boxes like the Revue, then Roku then Amazon Fire Tablet w/HDMI to TV then Fire TV.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
