Amazon Instant Video on 2011 Smart TVs

by itzme1234 / June 21, 2011 10:59 PM PDT

Is there any word on whether the 2011 Samsungs will ever get Amazon Instant Video? I used to have a 2010 C8000 and it had it from the Yahoo app. My new D8000 does have the yahoo app, but the app is severely limited in the number of widgets availible, and Amazon Instant is not there.

I understand that app selections are a function of where we live, but the missing AIV on the 2011s makes no sense.

Is there any word on whether Samsung may offer amazon.instant video as they have in the past?

Small issue about your question.

Amazon would offer it to Samsung and then to us. Samsung doesn't write most of the apps.

Already Exists

As the previous owner of a c8000 I can tell you that app already exists, as a widget on the Yahoo app. That TV was replaced with a d8000, and this year's Yahoo app (on the d8000) seems to have much fewer widgets and it lacks Amazon Instant Video. I miss it!

I added that little Roku box and it's pretty good. But I really should top post about "App Quality."

I'm finding glitches in the titles and other oddities.
