Question

Amazon app not available on Panasonic Blu-ray player

Mar 23, 2017 12:39AM PDT

I have a Panasonic DMP-UB900 Blu-ray disc player which does not have the Amazon App when I connect it to my wireless WIFI. Panasonic responded that the DMP-UB900 has the Amazon App. How do I figure this out? My old Panasonic Blu-ray player has the Amazon App on this same wifi setup. Help!

If it should be present and it isn't, it's a warranty issue. Back to the shop.

Not necessarily

If an app is missing you think it's a warranty issue? No.

The app market changes daily. Even shortly after a device is released they often get pulled, *especially* if you are familiar with Amazon's track record.

What the OP should do is:

-Call Panasonic support to 110% verify what's supposed to ship with the most current firmware
-Update the device to that firmware if that hasn't been done already
-Visit a more specialized site such as AVSforum to get more nuanced info from other users/owners

Panasonic DMP-UB900 does not have the Amazon App.

I really screwed up. Don't buy the Panasonic DMP-UB 900 Blu-ray disc player if you want to use it with Apps. I did not know that I needed to check on what Apps it has before buying since my two prior Panasonic Blu-ray players (cheaper models) have all of the Apps including Amazon streaming video which is my most commonly used App. Panasonic also takes the position that this is not a warranty issue as noted in one of the answers. They sent me back to the retailer. Apparently Panasonic is a "let the buyer beware" company. My only option is to try to minimize my loss on E-bay or Craig's List.

In all fairness, all manufacturers do that

The apps arrive, then leave certain devices. Panasonic is no different, and often it is beyond their control.
