I don't know how many of you are interested in the space program, NASA's shuttle, the International Space Station, et al, but NASA's latest shuttle mission to the ISS, has fitted one of the last components to the space station, a viewing port called the Cupola.

It is a 7-sided port with transparent windows that are larger than the normal small ports generally used. It looks down, (or up, depending on your own chosen orientation), on the Earth, and the 6 side panels allow a panoramic view of the Earth and parts of the space station.

NASA TV has highlights of this current mission, including fantastic views as the astronauts test out the views from the cupola.

That page will offer a choice of videos including live coverage in the ISS, and may or may not work depending on your browser plugins.

If you decide to have a look, I hope you will enjoy the new views available from the ISS.

haven't checked out the cupola views yet. Last I saw they were getting ready to take the covers off the windows.

Why not use a solar cooker out in space. Have all, give the uwave a break. I wonder how long a 12oz. T-bone would take to cook, well done?
