The story I heard is the drive content is cached because to read it would take a huge drop in speed. A common fix is to hit some Samsung menu to change from Movies to Pictures and back to Movies.
This is not a bug. It's working as designed. Some will not like that.
Hello, I own a Samsung Tv model UA50JU6400 (latest firmware available ver. 1450). I've realized there is an amazing bug while using a usb flash drive: the Tv is not able to refresh the folders after their cancellation. That means, i.e., if I copy in the flash drive a movie into its own folder and then I delete it, the Tv will still show the deleted folder (if I try to open it the folder results void).
Obviously browsing the flash drive becomes a mess because it's necessary to remember which folders have been deleted and which ones actually contain datas.
By the way this happens only with the folders, somehow the Tv is able to refresh the deleted mp4s, provided they were previously copied in the main flash drive directory.
The bug occurs with every usb connection of the tv. I've also tried, in vain, various brands of flash drives, both 2.0 and 3.0.
The "solution" of the Samsung support was to reset the Smart Hub: this works but, after a while, the problem is still present. But I can't reset the Smart Hub every time I need to use a flash drive, because the reset causes the loss of all the settings and the installed apps
I've tried to google a solution and apparently this is a bug known since 2011. The suggestion was to use the filter selecting i.e. movies or music or pictures in order to try to refresh the available
folders. This tip doesn't seem to work in my case.
I would like to ask you:
1) Are there any other Samsung Tv owners suffering from the same issue?
2) Is there a way to solve this annoying bug?
