AM Radio Cell Phone

by faiazkool / April 15, 2006 2:12 PM PDT

Are there any cell phones available with an AM radio? If not, why not? Is there a technical problem with putting an AM radio into a cell phone?

I think it went away with the 8-track player model.

i would say that there shouldn't be a problem. modern AM radios frequently work just fine with a short wire being the antenna. on the other hand with AM reception you have to stand put and you cant really walk around. also, AM wont work in buildings sometimes. also, the cell phone companies dont want you to listen to talk radio.
