I have an HP Pavilion a6530f, triple core, 4g RAM, 640 drive, Vista. It's been hanging up on me & dying in the middle of things. Have done a system restore as well as disk cleanup & have removed absolutely everything I don't need. When I run PC Doc it says everything is fine. The freezing is intermittent so it's hard to track down what's causing it; in fact it's run almost flawlessly for the past few days - go figure! Anyway I got frustrated 2 weeks ago & ordered a new PC thru HP (Pavilion HPE500z). The day after receiving it had a problem with it that HP tech couldn't fix so sent it back. Come the find out the 500z is due to be discontinued this week (the 14th). A new PC is coming out Wed (15th) & they're offering it at the same price. It's a quad core (3.2GHz), 6gb RAM, 1TB drive.
My question is is this enough of an upgrade to spend $670? I don't do any gaming, mostly the net, Word, Excel & lots of pictures.
Thanks for any advise.
